About Us

Welcome to the Grand Hotel Minerva, a 4-star superior boutique hotel in the heart of Florence’s historic center in its illustrious Piazza Santa Maria Novella. After years of renovation, the Piazza has now been returned to its historic magnificence and is a peaceful haven for pedestrians replete with public green space, restaurants, bars and cafés.

Florence’s key tourist attractions are all just a lovely five or ten minutes’ stroll away, including Piazza del Duomo with its glorious cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Repubblica, the Uffizi museum, Ponte Vecchio and Florence’s most eminent luxury shopping street, Via Tornabuoni. Other locations in walking distance include Palazzo degli Affari, the Firenze Fiera Centro Congressi and the Fortezza Da Basso (the location of top international conferences and exhibitions, such as the Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo.)

All of these sites can be admired in a spectacular, sweeping view of Florence from the Grand Hotel Minerva’s terrace on the sixth floor. When our swimming pool and pool bar open, the scenic terrace becomes a place like no other to relax, revive and enjoy Florence’s beauty, while having a bite under the sun umbrellas.

Grand Hotel Minerva’s interiors bring together art and design in a fusion of the work of the architects Detti and Scarpa, in charge of its major restoration project, and the artist Emilio Greco, whose art work is featured in the hotel, including a statue and several lithographs. Our hotel’s contemporary design, featuring spacious common areas, is also on display in the 100 rooms , whose options include classic to superior, junior suites and suites.

Grand Minerva Hotel in Florence makes the perfect home base for family holidays in Florence too, with its family rooms and suites , accommodating up to six guests.

Our open-air restaurant opens in the spring for light lunches or romantic dinners in the magnificent setting of Piazza Santa Maria Novella, under the marvelous façade of its church, a masterpiece by Giovan Battista Alberti.

Complimentary (Wi-Fi) Internet access is available to guests throughout the hotel and in their rooms.
