There have been a lot of new happenings here at the Grand Hotel Minerva in the last couple years. Little by little, we’ve been giving ourselves a make-over. First we redid the entire top-floor terrace, including the area around the swimming pool and our new 360° roof bar, opened last summer.
If you follow us on the social networks or our blog, you’ll have noticed some pictures of our “Time4tapas” happy hour.
Between late 2014 and early 2015 we decided to remodel one floor of rooms. After a few months of inconvenience, here’s what we have to show for all of our hard work! Brighter rooms, better tailored to our guests’ comfort with even fuller services.
For example, take a look at the new 323. Not bad, is it?
In the picture: Premium Large Double
The new Premium Rooms are designed to provide a mix of high tech and deep-seated refinement seen in the selection of furnishings, fabrics and colors that reflect the traditions of Italian and Tuscan style.
Technologically speaking, there’s a dedicated Wi-Fi hotspot for each room and an interactive television whose cabinet dialogues with the TV and can even be used as a remote control. You can look at your pictures on the TV, just for an example! There are satellite channels and Mediaset Premium.
As for the beds, you can choose rooms with king-size or double beds, and the mattresses are all Simmons, 200-cm long.
The bathrooms have also all been remodeled with marble surfaces, high design sinks and the option of a shower or bath.
You will find in your room complementary bathrobes, slippers, cookies and mineral water, as well as a tea kettle to make yourself a nice hot tea on the spot.
This is our new room 426, one of our Deluxe Junior Suites.
And this is room 428, our Romantic Suite after the remodeling.
These are just a few of our new rooms. Come and see them all! To book a Premium room>>
The Premium rooms overlook the cloisters of the Church of Santa Maria Novella, the garden or internal courtyards. The new 401 and 402 rooms are trailblazers for the future Deluxe Superior rooms (ready starting in April 2016) with a view of Florence’s Cathedral (see photo below). The Deluxe Junior Suites, some featuring a small balcony, overlook the cloisters and afford a lovely view of the facades of the Church of Santa Maria Novella.
On this blog we love to give you some “behind the scenes” peaks, so here are some snapshots taken during the “making of,” i.e. the new rooms’ photo shoot. Here you can see the photographer at work.
And here you can see the results immediately. So, how did the picture turn out?
And here you see Andrea Bargigli, our Sales & Marketing Director, pouring some champagne in flutes, ready to be immortalized by our photographer. Every detail counts!
