Rooftop bar opening party

Last night, we enjoyed a warm May evening by kicking off the season for our 360 Three Sixty rooftop bar on our sixth floor terrace. To start the season in style, we organized our now regular fabulous swimming pool party, inviting hotel guests, Florentines, our hotel’s friends and partners, and travel and food bloggers.

As a magnificent sunset slowly spread over Florence’s red rooftops, starting at 7:00 pm, our DJ entertained guests with mood music and a tantalizing, abundant poolside buffet.

Our young chef Tommaso Calonaci — a mere 23 years old! — dazzled with finger food inventions based mainly on fruit and vegetables, and plenty of unique pairings.

On the terrace overlooking the cloisters of Santa Maria Novella, our bartenders concocted colorful, refreshing cocktails.


As the evening was part of Yelp’s Florence Summer Week, we had a few Yelpers on hand too.

Once night fell, wonderful plays of light colored our pool with green, turquoise, green and red!

We opened some of our freshly-renovated rooms and suites for the event to show them off to our guests. And of course the new breakfast room and ground floor bar.

In recent months, Grand Hotel Minerva underwent a major renovation making us an even better hotel with everything to welcome tourists enamored of Florence.
